Mill Duty Elevators
Our mill duty product line is based on a centrifugal style design. Due to the rough industrial environments that these elevators are used in our design offers heavy duty construction including buckets, belt, chain, bearings, & casing.
We provide AC style buckets for increased carrying capacities. AC style buckets use thicker walls & a reinforced lip to handle heavier & more abrasive products. These can be ductile iron or fabricated out of abrasion resistant plate.
Mill duty elevators can be provided with either belt or chain. For belting we use a multi-ply polyester carcass belt with a heavy-duty rubber covering. For the chain option we provide a hardened steel bushed chain that provides increased wear resistance along with higher load capacities compared to standard elevator roller chains.
This product line will use minimum ¼” thick plate for the head & boot sections & 3/16” thk intermediate sections. Along with the heavier casing we provide abrasion resistant liners in all areas of the housing that will see product contact.
Although not limited to the cement industry, mill duty elevators were designed to meet the requirements of cement industry. One large area of concern with cement is dust & leakage. To minimize escaping dust this elevator is provided with an internal gravity take up. This style take up is self-adjusting & uses a boot shaft that is fully enclosed within the boot housing. Eliminating the need for a shaft seal.
